splitter question

This is my first post here but I have been lurking for some time and have learned a lot. I will be using 3 to 4 cords year. One thing I have seen is that the 22 ton splitter from tsc comes highly recommended and this leads to a question.
I went to tsc to look at there splitters and the sales guy told me if was going to be splitting hedge the 22 ton would have a hard time and would struggle and said since I would be splitting a lot of hedge I should get the 28 ton splitter. The largest rounds that I have are between 24 and 30 inches. Can someone that has this splitter tell me if it will split hedge and not have a hard time doing so?

I at this point, can't in good faith, recommend a speeco right now.

I can tell you how well, so far, my 22 ton works. But look at some of the threads recently about speeco. Some of us who bought them, are doing some head scratching right now.
