Hello everyone.
I had the recoil spring break in my 070 setup in my Alaska Mill and needed to get it going at the time, so I setup a 17mm impact socket on my Makita lxt drill and cranked on it clockwise on the clutch side (the cover has been cut off for milling so the nut on that side is accessible). I used the compression release and after a few cranks it fired up, even from a flooded state.
This seemed to work really well for starting it, is there any reason this could be bad for the saw? I searched around and see people discussing drill starting from the starter side, but not the clutch side.
Anyway, mainly looking for input as to whether or not this could be bad for the saw, I already ordered a new recoil starter, but like I said, this was easy starting.
