yes i have put one in it already and just wondering if i can convert it to side tensioned like the 026.Is your tensioner a problem?
I would think you'd have to mill your case, however maybe not.
I can not say I've ever had a problem with a front tensioner, what happens to yours and do you know what causes it?
It is the tensioner itself my dealer has been having problems getting parts due to the pandemic and i found a site that carries the part but i think the steel used is inferior to oem.I would think you'd have to mill your case, however maybe not.

I likely have a bucketload of those nuts laying around, as well as new ones. Where in KY are you?It is the tensioner itself my dealer has been having problems getting parts due to the pandemic and i found a site that carries the part but i think the steel used is inferior to oem.
keeps stripping the tensioning nub that is on the threaded bolt.
How tight do you set it? Do you tighten it more after you lock down your bar?It is the tensioner itself my dealer has been having problems getting parts due to the pandemic and i found a site that carries the part but i think the steel used is inferior to oem.

My saw is a Wood boss 024 AVSEQShort answer is NO. You would need to machine the case. You can try to swap in an 026 case, but the crank/stroke is different-you’d have to find a Super P&C to swap in as well.
So NO.
Not tight at all and i don't tighten after tightening the bar i run my chain with a little slackHow tight do you set it? Do you tighten it more after you lock down your bar?
It is the cover bolts and nuts that hold the bar in place, the tensioner just keeps the bar in place until you can torque down the nuts. The tensioner nub would never be strong enough to hold by itself, even in the sideload format.
I put the bar nut on finger tight then i tension the bar is that to tight? Not sure why it is causing me grief i just think i got a bad tensioner. If you are stripping out the threads, you are either adjusting way too tight, or are you trying to adjust it after you tighten down the bar nut?
024's only have one stud. Also is that front bar stud broken off?
How tight are you making your chain?I put the bar nut on finger tight then i tension the bar is that to tight? Not sure why it is causing me grief i just think i got a bad tensioner.
i will get you a picture. How tight are you making your chain?
If that is fine too, how are the threads on the adjuster screw?
i tighten it down after setting the tension i prefer to have parts not flying off.The OP needs to tighten the bar nut(s) after after adjusting the chain.
He obviously isn’t doing that.
