Stihl 024avs project

Bought 2 x 024avs saws for $50. One had a good motor, but crushed handles, covers, starter and flywheel ect, the other had a blown motor but good bolt on bits. So I made 1 from 2 and she runs.
So I now plan to stick a bar and chain on her and see how she goes. Then I will do a muffler mod, and clean up the ports and give it a fresh Top end.

Porting an 024 is like hopping up a Yugo. Stick an 026 ported top on it and you will have something. Mike

That all depends on who ports it.

Yeah I wouldn't mind a 026 barrel. But i haven't been able to find one

I have as always thought that the air filter system on these saws is very restrictive. Anyone know of a better system or mod?
