the switch connects the 2 to ground out the coil/shut the saw off.

So just ground it to the case?

Under the screw that has the kill switch metal tang/spring.

No just the metal body attached to one of the top cover bolts.
So let me explain. The one with the strait round blade goes in the switch shaft which is connected to the coil, the fuel tank/air box is isolated from the coil (continuity) so in order to steal spark from the coil the wire connects the coil/switch shaft wire to ground out to the main body , therefore killing the spark and the saw shuts off.
The bolt that is closest to the plug wire is were it goes.

Unless the cover was swapped out somewhere along the line, I'd say that's a pretty safe bet.
