Stihl 031 AV Fuel Question

The specs for my Stihl 031 AV call for a 40:1 fuel mix. Since all my other newer Stihl equipment uses a 50:1 mix (trimmer, hedger, blower), I'd like to run the 50:1 in my saw also. Is it okay to use the 50:1 mix instead of the 40:1, and would it cause any problems, short term or long term?

Probably... but you'll get a lot of opinions. I'd stick with 1 mixture for all, for convenience. So 40:1, 45:1, 50:1... whatever lets you sleep comfortably at night. Most important run a quality oil, sharp chain and keep the saw tuned properly.
