Stihl 041AV Electronic Ignition Mod

I have a Stihl 041AV and I am replacing the points on it with the nova electronic unit. My question is will this work as my flywheel has magnets all the way around and the instructions state it wont work with several magnets on the flywheel. If it will work how does it know when to fire as there is no button on it to go against the flywheel like there is on the old points system. Any help would be gratefully apreciated
