As long as the brake band sits where it's supposed to and doesn't rub on the clutch drum.
That saw is missing a lot of parts going oem expect to pay $300 plus for the missing parts.
I'd pull the cylinder to see what condition the cylinder and piston are in before investing to much money into that saw.

This is one problem that needs to be addressed before spending any money on it. Unless you don't mind running it without a chain brake.
I don't think anyone makes aftermarket early cast muffler ms880 crankcases.
The aftermarket late steel muffler ms880 crankcases won't work with that saw can't even bolt the muffler on.
If it needs a crankcase second hand or new oem (if ya can still get them) is the only options.

The engine is ok, i am thinking of buying a new oem crankcase for it. i know now why it was worth only 300$

Looks like you can buy those pins. Not sure what talent it would take to replace it.

If you are going to mill with the saw you don't need the chain brake. If you are going to block up big logs already on the ground in open country you probably don't need the brake. Plenty of 090s still doing that job. How much big timber do you have in Romania?
