Stihl chainsaw won't turn off

The carb is pretty much non-adjustable on this model, so it is likely a real dirty air filter, or a problem with a welch plug or needle in the carb.

Running too rich of an oil mix will also carbon up the spark screen, 50:1 or 40:1 is what you want.

Air filter new & clean and fuel mix is correct (TruFuel premixed 50:1).

I've never had any luck with the owner's manual instructions. Is this good advice on carb adjustment: ?

But it does. There's no H screw (it has a fixed jet) but it has LA and L screws. Stihl MS180C.

Yeah, the 017/018/ms170 saws are known for not holding onto that throttle control lever too well, I used to melt the plastic on the crankcase to make it grip better.

Another point against Stihl . . . both the manual and the parts list are wrong.

So what's the conclusion here? According to this thread I should adjust it due to fast carbon buildup on the screen. Just get rid of the screen?
