I no bow saws are not real popular but I want to make one. I found a ms 310 at the local pawn shop for $220 seems to be in pretty decent shape how do hall think it will handle a bow bar and does anybody have any experience with one. If I was going to buy a new saw to put a bow I would get a bigger saw but for the price will it work

If you if you keep the wood under 10-12" and open the muffler up, it will pull it ok. The mufflers on these saws are very restrictive. Your saw will seem like a different animal with this mod. Also, you are going to get flamed for suggesting a bow and for using a non-pro saw, but give it a try. You may have to modify the clutch cover to clear the bow. Growing up in the south gives us a different perspective on bow saws!!

Yeah a chainsaw with a straight bar looks funny to me.
