Today while milling a large maple with a 60" bar and mill on my newer 880, I had something crazy happen. I went to restart the saw for the second cut, and I followed the same procedure of pulling the throttle, putting it in the position right above full choke, made sure the brake was on, hit the decomp valve, and pulled. When I pulled, the rope probably came out a foot before the decomp kicked off and I thought I pulled two fingers off. It did this several times, and I had to hold the decomp down until the saw fired off. Just before this, I had thrown the chain off and the saw was laying on its side for a little as I fixed it. . I don't see how that could have done that though. Also, I just got the saw broken in, and I retuned the carb. Is it too rich maybe? I am clueless. Hoping one of y'all have an idea. Thanks in advance.
