Anyone know what year stihl went from a 044 to the MS440? I'm trying to identify what year my 440 is. It must be one of the first year 440's because it doesn't have a decompression button.

Likely a year or two later, but I am not sure. 1999 likely was the year the 044 was updated, and became the 044 Magnum.
