Yes, they do!

Once You see You are in the red with the rpm's, You jank the stick out of the current gear and immediately force it into the next higher one - You don't even have to use the clutch if You shift fast enough!

On ebay, the round edge 4 stroke tach is $5.25 USD. I've ordered one and I'll see what it reads on a 2 stroke saw. I'm guessing idle will be 5500 RPM (normal is 2750) because of spark every revolution. But IIRC, a Briggs, Kohler, Tecumseh single cyl will spark on exhaust stroke, too, so it may read double on a lawn tractor.

I have a 2 stroke one on a industrial 4 stroke kohler engine & it reads correctly.

Well, I ordered the $5.25 USD tach-hour meter....and it's ONLY an hour meter. Tough to check RPMs. LOL

The pic does look like only an hour meter but the ad states tach, RPM max.
Maybe they will make it right.

Looks like a clear case, refund or send another unit to You.

I haven't had dealings on Ebay, but from what I have seen the sellers will rather correct a wrong doing then risk a bad rating.
Try contacting the seller and point out the matter/error.

Yeah, I've contacted seller and said "item not as described" And most sellers will make it right because they don't want a negative rating.

First tach I purchased was a Works Connection moto-x style tach.
I just trimmed the lead.
Worked great
I've had it for 3-4yrs and still hasn't quit......never shuts down.
