Thats actually a tough question and requires a bit of thought....a mix of collector priorities & practical properties. For me priorities include the collector sense of unique saws...but the highest priority are the ones that are fun to build and tincker with and can be practical. Thats why the 200 series, 300 series Husky's and 820-930 Jreds. Fun saws to build and tinker with, but do the real meat of the work around the farm too. Hobby paying off by facilitating real work.
1) Solo twin....Just the king of cool.
2) Echo twin. Pipe dream..like the Solo probably can't afford one when I do find one.
3) McCulloch 797 (Let one go...kicking myself)
4) Homelite 750 (Have one..need clutch & cover)
5) Jonsered 930, Jonsered 920
Just like them, have 4
6) Any Husqvarna 365/372 Chassis based saw, any Jonsered 2065 thru 2172 as well. My Jonsered 2172 is the real deal. My 365 with a 371 topend tinkered saw has turned into the main "work horse" saw here. Practical tinckering.
7) Jonsered 2094/95 Have one, Really want the ones with compression releases...
8) Homelite 8800 (540's too)(have a nice 540..and 8800 top end looking for a saw)
9) Any Stihl 044 thru MS460 saw made before they started with crappier cylinder castings.
10) Any New Husqvarna 555 thru 562 or Jonsered 2258 thru 2260 chassis saw. Love these new ones. My 555 is the real deal for a farm saw.
11) Any old Husqvarna with the medium sized chassis from 61's thru 272's (Jonsered 625 thru 670 as well). Fun to tinker with and still useful....have my 1978 white top rancher built with a 272 top end. Lots of tinkering fun.
12) Solo 603...
So many saws..so little money....:msp_sleep:
