I want to thank randy(mastermind) for his work on the 044. looks great he made me an awesome saw. very good communicating. very professional to deal with. basically I got a new 044 now. new crankcase, crankshaft, new oil gas lines, bearings and seals. it almost look too good for me. An 044/440/460 CDN Magnum R-hybrid from the looks of it. Good setup.

Note that Stihl is selling the 440R again in the US, so I would bet that Randy will see a lot more new 440s to mod again.
 
what is'nt new on that saw? did he do the top end too. I have a chance to pick up a non running, but all there and in decent shape 044. wouldnt mind have something like this done to it. did you replace alot of stuff on this saw also?
 
Just picked up an 044 myself... and ordered a few parts. And Randy is gonna fix up a ported cylinder I found somewhere. It should be a fun project... :)
