No stove pipe, but I did clean the chimney last weekend. I got about 2 coffee cans of fluffy black mess out of it. That's the entire season of burning (installed new last fall and not cleaned during the winter as I know some of you crazies do).
Thanks for the reminder.
I just swept the Selkirk 8" Sentinel chimney from my EPA Drolet HT2000 wood stove.
I usually get about a cup of loose black dust is all, if that.
But I only burn maybe 4 cords a year and it's always well seasoned for 1-3 years.
I clean my pellet stove pipe twice a burn season and burn about 130 bags a season in it. Not a lot from it either.
At the end of the season, the pellet stove ash that's left from burning all those bags is about one large metal garbage can full.
Both very efficient stoves. I'm lucky.
Both are clean and ready to go now.
Happy Burning.
I cleaned mine about a week after I stopped burning. got a small sandwich bag of gunk. Don't run a damper, not recommended by England when I was putting the furnace in.
