Today I picked up my new Stihl ms 441 M-Tronic Chain Saw, first saw ever

Pictures of side by side comparison of 372XT and 441cm.

I have 2 plus years on the 372XT, the 441cm I just picked up last week.

I am still learning the 441's capabilities, so far it has been a strong saw, somewhat heavier than the 372.

The 372 has a lot of hours on it, so it's not a true comparison, as the strato saws do take many more tanks to "wake up"

STIHL...... German...? Remember?

Stihl uses the letter R for the wrap terminology. I'm not sure why but they do. Husqvarna uses the xpw for the western set up which is it's wrap handle version.

MS = MotorSage (that's the word for it in German), as far as I know..

I can check what the "R" could mean, but I'm no German.. it's all because I went to eBay.co.DE to see what's there, and I used Google Translate.. that's all.

a wild guess after researching....

I have found that in German, there's a word:

Rundschreiben


it means circular.


that might explain it.
