Longevity has always been about proper maintenance. You care for your tools, and they will in-turn care for you. Sounds corny I know, but it's true.
Probably the first few uses.I've always felt that way about buying new saws, I would think if there was an issue with one that it would show itself within the first year.

Brazil's manufacturing is top-notch. I would have no problems with buying a new Made in Brazil Husky. (I wish we could get the non EPA 61 still being made there!)
Can anybody shed some light as too what those two screw holes are for?

Those are mounting holes for a 'tank-case' protector plate OEM Husqvarna part, try to order that, it's cheap protection for that nice saw, top of plate mounts under case screw, easy to install.
