Nope. those are rock cutting bits on the digging chain. It goes painfully slow trying to dig dirt that way. Once the dirt freezes, then those bits work OK.

But I would still love to see that machine chomping away at a tree trunk....

It doesn't work as well as you'd think. The chain speed is too low and the bits too blunt. A little SC352 would out grind that trencher by about triple.
