quite some time ago one of my friends had 1 of those small 4'X4' trailers. picked it up cheap he remodeled it.. lengthened, widened it, extended the tounge, & proceded to burn up 2 sets of bearings it had the 6" tires on it & he had made it into a boat trailer. anyway he did some talking to someone at a parts house got some ideas what would fit & went to junkyard & got bigger spindles from a car & went to car size wheels & had a bigger bearing but had same inside diameter to fit his trailer axle. I cant go ask him as he drives a semi all over USA & is never home I see him every couple years now.

the small tire would turn 2 to 3 revolutions compared to the car tire so hoped that would work & it worked for years & was still on it when he sold boat.

just ideas for anyone that may be having problems. but increasing tire size will make bearing turn slower & can lower temps.

also if you increase tire/wheel size you may have to raise your fenders.

Randy
