Man...I'm like that set up for sure...SWEET!!I moved a bit more than half a cord of ash over a couple of weeks ago, and dropped an 8" standing dead ash and brought that over. That turned out to be a good move and let me breathe easier. There are another 2 cords of good wood on the upper porch, plus some extra bits so we should be good. If I need more there is some good oak up under a tarp at the edge of one of my fields, but if this snow doesn't go away I won't be able to get to it.
Now my issue is that I'm running low of short pieces for the little stove. I usually don't really need to burn that, but we really like to.
A good friend of ours ran out so I took a pile of oak over to her place. It was wood that could have used more seasoning and was frozen, but she has stuff to thaw it out with. She heats with a Jotul 4 - I can't help it, I love this stove!
I feel bad because she is always scrounging, but I know I do not have the time or capacity to gather wood for two homes. I'm not gonna try not to let her freeze but there is a limit as to what I can provide. She does have electric baseboard heat, but not a lot of money to pay to use it.
