We had true temp of -60 back in 96' at the NWS certified thermometer about 25 miles from my cabin The town next to them which typically is colder had their thermometer break that night.

We get a -50 every couple of years.

On that note, I've read that at -40, EAB eggs die.
with it being that cold i would be burning coal -40 or -50 sounds insane to me.

I went snowshoeing at -40 (no windchill). Talk about silence in the woods when every other critter is holed up. It's beautiful when you are dressed right.

sounds like you got to keep your car/truck plugged in most of the time in the winter there?
can't imagine a engine liking that type of weather.

I like that long range forecast. It means good riding weather for me. I ride all year long but stay off the roads when there is snow on the roads or when temperatures are below 20ºF.
