Normaly they have a fist full of twenties and when they count it out they go, 'One for me... One for you.... Lol

sounds like you need to retain exactly one stick of firewood for negotiating purposes. Hickory is excellent although the traditional lighter knot is preferred in the longleaf pine region. I can hook ya up for a reasonable fee
 
I recall beating a cross dog off with a hickory stick. Why is the the wood with the most btu's grown in the warmest climates? Yet up north here all we got is beetle kill black spruce. Most of the spruce I cut is about 200 years old, so I think It's much like hickory as the growth rings are very tight.
