They are similar...not the same though. Small mount bar is the weight savings
 
The 2260 also has a lower top cover different air filter which makes it look smaller....basically the 2260 is a 2258/555 with a 562xp cylinder. While its not big differences it is noticeable especially with a small mount light bar.
 
Not to speak for Chris, but if I were working from a bucket reaching for limbs, the wt of the saw would be very important.

Chris, does the J Red saw have Auto Tune?
Yes Mike thats why i got the 2260, i asked about other saws but the 2260 was the best fit.

Yes its AT. Jonsered calls it Carb Control though.

bet it would make a great climbing saw for slightly bigger climbing work, probably very well balanced with a good center of gravity with plenty of zip I'd imagine!!!:clap::ices_rofl::chainsaw:
