Stihl PN Check, New 440 Extended Clutch Cover

With the 440 being produced again and having throw a chain and broken one of the chip deflector studs, I took it to be time to get a new clutch cover for my old 440 and upgrade the studs. Can someone confirm a PN for me to have a new extended clutch cover with the tapered bar stud holes as...

New Addition to the Work Bench

The new Schlitz pounders here say "Original 1960's Recipe". I am not that old, but I do love them. Sweet sign and great find.

261 with 3/8 chain, what do ya think??

I'd take a little slow for convenience of not carrying another file and bar just for a certain chain pitch. Mostly I was amused that the dealer said they were waiting on a kit from Stihl. I took off the clutch cover and said, lets put a different sprocket on and match the bar. I have been...

261 with 3/8 chain, what do ya think??

Glad you have dealers who entertain the reality that it is possible to put 3/8s on the 261. Locally, they refuse. The bigger question I have been wondering while debating a 261 is if I run .325, does Stihl make an ES bar in that pitch. Looks like no at this point and the E bars have been a...

    Stihl Light Bar

As a follow up, with 10 tanks on the new bar, this really is as advertised. I am not a production faller, but I do log some decent hours when the time comes. Stiffer than Oregon, lighter than regular ES. In this area, MSRP was $144. One shop was so excited, they took it as a return...

    Stihl Light Bar

No other dealer, within an hour drive, had a clue that they existed. Thought about bailing, asked if they were serious and they said yeah. Lesson learned.

    Stihl Light Bar

Finally got my 32" .063 in and it was worth the wait. Noticeably lighter than a regular ES and much stiffer than the Oregons I spun off. Only bummer is my dealer charged $189. I crapped my pants! I can deal with a $10 here or there, but another $50 was a bear. I bit my lip and took it...

    Stihl Light Bar

After a trip to a different shop, I had a call back and order placed before I got my truck out of the parking lot. Told the new place to find a way and he sure did. Guess it is going to have to be worth the drive. Thanks for the info gents.

    Stihl Light Bar

Local dealer said they are only being sold in the PNW to the public for testing. I asked why they were being sold elsewhere and he told me to call the dealers and ask to order one. I asked how we could do that as it was strictly against Stihl policy and he was a jerk. Is there any truth...

    Stihl Light Bar

Guidance on dealers who insist it is still not in production? I love Stihl products, I hate my local contact who is a pain to get them from. These are in production and available in all regions theoretically, correct? Thanks

    Pink Stihl...

That saw has a purpose and I admire the purpose. I think this is a great way to raise awareness in another community and share something a bit silly. I have lost loved ones and I appreciate the cause. This, to me, is a lot more classy than the "I love Boobies" bracelets that people wear...

Tuning 372xp for different b/c lengths

The humor was lost in translation. I get the people USUALLY keep one bar in the PNW. Secondly, I have read and participated in however many "limbing saw, who needs a limbing saw" threads here. Finally, it was supposed to all be in good fun.:givebeer:

Tuning 372xp for different b/c lengths

In two threads you mentioned someplace doing something that they can't do, that's all I mean. At Madsen's, the 32 IS the limbing bar.

Tuning 372xp for different b/c lengths

You've mentioned the same scenario in two threads now... I am worried, I thought that Madsen's didn't sell saws that needed the bars to be changed for limbing...

    090 Parts/Handles

One that was easily found on e-bay with a higher retail plus shipping. I'll keep looking, should have stocked up on spares before I had a broken one. Thanks.

    Holy Grail of chains?

I feel like the Holy Grail is the half inch chain that I have AND someone who knows what they are doing filed it. Some have said they prefer Oregon chain for racing as the cutter takes shaping more effectively than Stihl, but I don't know. It is half inch, and that is hard to come by.

    090 Parts/Handles

I have seen the Stihl parts available on line that are not OEM Stihl. Is quality good on parts like handles and throttle assemblies? I imagine that I don't want to know how much a stock Stihl 090 throttle handle costs or if anyone has one, but I thought I would ask anyway. It is to...

    When is colorado?

Slim pickings this year. I am based in Colorado but am racing in the greater PNW this summer to get a few more reps under my belt. It is a rough go for everyone. Bummer that Kremmling is down again, keep hoping for next year. There was a race in Encampment, WY, otherwise the next go...

Switching a Wrap handle for standard?

I am pretty sure that is prohibited by the PNW Gods. If it came wrapped, it has to stay. I am curious about what you don't like. I almost cannot run a saw without a wrap, I feel crippled and out of place. I have come to rely on it and avoid back barring, it just feels right. And to...
