I honestly don't think it's your cover. What does your rear sprocket look like?

    036 Vacuum?

When I have one that won't hold I try the flywheel side first. Pop off the flywheel, then dribble some two stroke oil on the seal. If it has a vacuum leak there it will suck it into the saw. If that's not it, repeat on the clutch side.

    Question for guys with shops

I am lucky. When I started dealing in Stihl I already had a superb point of sale system in place for my hardware store. It's as expensive as hell, so if I didn't have the rest of my business to help share in the cost, I probably wouldn't have it. Quickbooks is used for my backroom accounting...

    Stihl 021 - Burnt Clutch & Housing

This video I made shows how little time it takes at high idle, with the chain brake on, to heat up a clutch.

How long should a chain last cutting firewood?

That file system he is using should take care of them equally. If tooth length on one side is shorter than the other, than that will make the rakers shorter using that tool.

How long should a chain last cutting firewood?

You have rocked the **** out of your chain. It needs to be filed back to the lines in my picture. That leading point needs to be absolutely sharp.

Frustrated: Stihl ms290 dies after heating up

That type of vent is rarely an issue. The red on the exhaust screen is Dirko that blew out of the crank case when the engine rebuilder used too much of it. Usually it's a non-issue.

    Stihl part numbers

I am happy to look in my point of sale computer to see if I stock the part number. If I don't, I will go to the Stihl online site and see if the part number is valid or has been updated. Often, a customer will either bring in an old part number that has been superseded, or a part number that is...

    Stihl part numbers

The ENTIRE part number needs to match for it to be the same part. Often times a part number originated with a certain line of saws and got that saw's four number designation at the beginning of the part number. ie: part #1128 640 9100 (oil tank breather) is used on virtually every Stihl saw...

    .325 X .50 bars almost unavailable

Define affordable? Oregon makes the bar you are seeking. How many drivers on the chains you have?

    Stihl ms362 / ms362c Ignition Module

It's actually a decent looking saw. Before you go to far, you can buy and replace the spark plug lead and boot fairly cheap. It's actually fairly rare to have a bad ignition coil on that saw.

Switched to my laptop. See that in the picture now.

Any shots of the other side?

    Stihl ms362 / ms362c Ignition Module

Yep, but they don't have any B,E,F or Q's so generally if it has a 362C on the side it's an M-tronic or a 362-C recoil made it onto the saw. Sure way to tell is a photo of the carb.

    Stihl ms362 / ms362c Ignition Module

C means its an M-tronic. Whole different animal. Any chance you can get any photos?

    Stihl ms362 / ms362c Ignition Module

The standard 362 and 362C ignitions are different as the 362C is the m-tronic saw. The part number you have is the correct one for the carb'd 362. The ignitions are unique to the saw in this case and not interchangeable with anything else I know of.

Stihl 028AV siezed up, then later spins ok?

Possibly. I have seen them seize where you can't see it through the exhaust, but it's extremely rare.
