    Logsplitter with boom pics please

Below is a link to a thread I posted awhile back for simple hoist I can set up on the back of my truck to load rounds to bring home and then offload onto splitter when I get home. I just swing mine by hand, I've seen some older equipment use a couple of cyl's,sprocket and roller chain to pivot...

New guy, first post and I need advice.

jaytee, I have an older Technics Tool pole pruner model (B024?). Its an ok tool, fixed shaft and light but its biggest detraction for the volume of work that needs to be done now is the lack of self/auto oiling. After some research on this sight I was leaning towards buying one of the...

    Husky 40 throttle cable hookup

Just getting caught up on some reading after being out of electric power for 8 days due to the ice storm here. I'll post a link to a thread from earlier this month where a fellow had the same issue. Good luck, Swannie http://new.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=42087

    Husky 40 Help

Glad to help, might want to keep an eye on the chain tension that you don't over tighten, to me the weak spot on that saw is the crank seals mounted in the plastic crank bearing supports. The bearings can get loose in the plastic support and cause the seals to leak. Enjoy & good luck, Swannie

    Black Walnut tree planting

Ditto 95, As far as freezing the nuts goes that is the goal of the late fall planting, to freeze and have natural stratification occur right in the soil where they are planted over the course of the winter. No use adding in any extra steps in the process if they are not really needed. As long as...

    Black Walnut tree planting

I've had better results on Black Walnuts by planting the nuts over using bare rootstock as supplied by our state conservation department. You avoid transplant shock and all the losses associated with that method. First thing to do is to decide on what nuts to use. Since you stated that you...

    Lifting rounds

Tom, this splitter is a couple of years old now and has the Briggs 8hp Intek engine, so far it starts on 1st or 2nd pull every time. Only thing on this engine I've noticed is some mid throttle vibration so I push the throttle on up until it is not as noticeable. I've not had any experience with...

    Lifting rounds

Tom, thats one of the 24 ton Harbor Freight models. I added a couple of wing tables on it made up out of some scrap 7ga cs I had on hand. Splitter works OK for what it is, cycle time is not the fastest but for an individuals use its acceptable

    Lifting rounds

johnha, truck is a 77 Ford F-250 4x4 (one of the old highboy types). To transport the lift just close the tailgate, loosen 4 setscrews/bolts and remove the lower cross brace/foot and vertical support post. Then slide unit forward and swing to one side or the other and hook cable end under...

    Lifting rounds

Here is a lift I set up to load rounds onto the truck on site. Once home where the splitter is I can then use same lift to go from truck to splitter. On bigger pieces I can leave 1/2 on the lift after splitting and swing out of the way while I work the 1st 1/2 up. The post lift came with a...

Several saws I want to part with.

Yes, the 651 is here, (great job of packaging also). Looks to be the 2nd nice used saw I have bought from Tony. Have only had a chance to run it thru a couple of 6" pc's of cherry, looking forward to trying it out on a few larger pieces before long. Thanks again.

Change to Dolmar side chain tensioner

I noticed the tensioner on my 7900 was rough and dry feeling when new. Before putting it in service I gave it a good coating of some grey antiseize compound. Smoothed up the feel of it and so far seems to be working OK.

    pop-off pressures

If this is a 6800i and the hi-speed needle seems unresponsive ( ie won't lean out) it could be the start injector needle is bad causing an over rich condition. The neighbor's 120si had this problem and the start injector was only available thru Dolmar, (about $30.00). Since this saw also had a...
