    WTF happened here?

Husqvarna 61 I have seen it before where the crank counterweights bust off the exhaust side of the piston before the intake side actually fractures from wearing too thin.

    Jugs........Rare & Different

NOS 2100 thin ring NOS Stihl Contra/Lightning not an "S" unfortunately. This is pretty cool too. Used OEM Stihl 051 piston made by Vertex . Not rare but uncommon.

I may have found a 090 in very good condition ...

It isn't a Contra/Lightning. It is most likely an early 070 rather than an 090. It has the 070 recoil. You would need to inspect to see if it has the 090 6 shoe clutch rather than the 070 3 shoe and if it has a 66mm rather than 58mm bore.

    Solo Twin....FINALLY!!!

I paid a lot more than that last time I bought some via Stihl! I did some research and it looks like 1 237 330 035 and 1 237 330 036 are fully interchangeable. ⌀18mm, height 21mm (or 22 depending where you measure), 0.18μF. How are you going to approach fixing the coil?

    Solo Twin....FINALLY!!!

Are condensers available for these? The originals would have been Bosch, who ever made those also makes the replacement 070/090 condensers (solder on type) for Stihl. They are 18mm in diameter and approx 22mm in height (from rim to base). I have seen a picture somewhere where you could...

    Stihl 070 problem

If you can feel a zap when you hold the plug but cannot actually see a spark, It will almost certainly be the condenser. There are two versions of the condenser one the wires solder on, the other they screw on. Not sure what you mean by "timing is TDC". It should be 27.3-29.3 degrees...

    050 051 075 076 Info Thread

I overlayed the tank gasket on top of the recoil housing so you can see that where the clearance is needed does not actually form part of the "fuel tank". The area you open up is exposed to atmosphere from the otherside in stock form anyway, hence, the fine dust. Just to clarify I only...

The area where clearance is needed does not actually form part of the actual tank. It is only if you chose to chamfer where the HT lead comes into contact with the trailing edge that you may come into problems. That isn't necessary though as you can just unclip the HT lead and reroute it though.

That is a 076 (pawl) tank. They don't need any modification as the -1301 coil was stock on them. The 075 (friction) tank will fit fine over the -1305 coil (which was stock) or the much later -1303 module but has clearance issues with the -1301 coil.

    050 051 075 076 Info Thread

Yes the 075 tank has to be modified if you want to use the -1301 coil. I never realised this until reltaively recently, of the few conversions I had done it was virtually always upgrading to the pawl system from the -1305 coil or installing the -1303 module. This is what happens with the -1301...

Some TS510 and TS760 machines can be converted, others not. (I think all TS50 machines had the capability?) Many just had threaded plugs etc. Some you need to drill and tap holes for oiler housing/manual oil button etc. I don't believe any chop saw past 1991 can be converted as they changed the...

    One 064 ignition qustion

Does your saw not have spark? or are you just worried about the extra mounting hole? Not all coils needed the 3rd hole. I don't believe all the cases had it either. The 0000 400 1300 universal ignition will work with that flywheel and is very common so shouldn't be hard to acquire.

Apart from the very early 051 and 050 crankcases, they take 6203 (ignition side) and 6204 (clutch side) bearings, C3 clearance IIRC. They are available at any bearing warehouse or online. You don't have to pay extra and go through Stihl, just to end up with the same bearings! As for...

That is a kind offer. Just be wary of mediaCAT when working on older saws though. It does not have any of the tech bulletins before 1994 and only has the latest versions of the ipls. For example, a lot of changes took place in the 1111 series and 1115 series saws that the latest versions of the...

    Stihl 076 trouble milling saw

Yes, cut/punch a piece of Al pop can or equivalent and place it under the screw plug and washer, against the carb body.
  16. JDNicol

Another 051 that has oiler issues. Am I on the right track?

Yes that is usually the culprit. Hard to be sure from the picture but there should be a washer between that O-ring and the spring. If you want piece of mind replace the larger black seal on the main body of the pump also, part number 1111 647 9000 in your case.

    Stihl 076 trouble milling saw

How did you tune it? ( You can't use a tach or your ear to set H without a load on the engine, see below). Try one turn out on the H and one and a quarter on the L. Do you have a spare carb? The 1111 series saws are rev limited via the carb. At at a threshold RPM the vibrations cause a control...

A crude little comparison of the -1202 (Bosch 1 216 610 045 ) and -1204 (Bosch 1 216 610 098) flywheels. I mounted a crank in the lathe and used the gears to prevent rotation. The flywheels were only a snug fit not torqued down. The pointer is made of aluminium. The -1204 is roughly 20...

Yes, it was mostly used on the TS760/TS510 cut off saws though. 051/076 saws were no longer/near the end of being marketed to USA/Europe etc when it was introduced. It was virtually always the trigger that failed with the trigger/coil combinations. Usually as a result of it being under the...

Lol! You did a good job though. Yet another example the 1111 series Stihl saws had the most alterations during production. I believe the pin drive systems were only used on the 050 and very early 051 saws. There are a lot of hybrid parts out there that cover more than one of the drive...
