I agree with the captain. Everything he has to say makes perfect sense and all of you naysayers are wrong.

There are no gains with porting a saw, it's been proven. If anything it slows the saw down. Why spend roughly $250 to slow down your own saw. Might as well just buy a slower saw IMO. These guys who port saws on here are just taking other members money. But I guess as long as captain neil doesn't let everyone in on the secret then the rest of us are part of the herd like we are supposed to be.

Yeah! Take my 7900 for example...well technically it's a 6400 'cuz that's what it says on the outside, but oddly it has the same displacement as a ported 7900...and it cuts juuust like a WildThingie.

Yup, yup...so if the Captain has a stock WildThingie that he'd like to race...

if you dont think its funny, then you do not like hockey,or you are gay,or both.

After working on many many saws in my short life, I have come to realize something. That is that more often than not, saws that have limiter caps tend to be running on the lean side of the spectrum. By running lean, there are less hydrocarbons being exhausted from the engine, therefore making it easier to pass the EPA's standards.

Typically when an engine is run lean the oxides will increase. The Hydro carbons have a chance at staying the same. Hydro Carbon emission is primarily from un-burnt fuels from the areas in the engine like the squish band. The two cycle engine is not going to be real clean, especially with 25% authority of fuel supply in the screw. This is why they focused on post treatment, catalysis.

goodnight yall, ive enjoyed it. Tomorrow, I'll post some pics of some of my older saws, all still in perfect running order, and by the way, no mods, see ya tomorrow.

Absolutely, I tried to port the muffler on my 4 hp electric remington and I electrocuted myself, that sure didn't make the saw cut faster and now the nurse is cross with me. I do enjoy chedder cheese though, it does not have the worthless holes like swiss cheese. One time I saw a man change a tire because it had a hole in it and his car wasn't even faster. I am going to put rims and a spoiler on my electric chainsaw - that should make it faster

Replace your AV springs with lowering springs. Drop it and put 22's on that thing, tint the windows, add some green light round effects, and add a 15" sub and let that ##### DROP!!!!

post thought, i had like 5 posts to what was a cool 45" log cut with my new saw. I had 10 pages worth of useless #### just for screwing with some moron, with an IQ of a BB, named Matt. For those of you that gave me the little red bar next to my name, I am a gold level stihl service tech and it really was a good question. There are a lot of people who should not even own a chain saw, much less modify one. Be careful what you tell children, they just might try it.

Did anyone notice that stihlthedeere has gone positive?
I noticed, that was strange.

Dang, I've been out working on my old cuda and here y'all done started this fine rodeo. GGGEEEEZZZZZZZZ
Well Barney how bout some pics of that cuda?

I have a feelin a couple of you will be banned, and this thread locked. It is pointless, everybody has a opinion, although most should keep theres to themselves.

DONT FEED THE TROLLS

The key word and point of two post ago was OLD SAWS! Not new ones. Can't even comapre an 026 to a 260 in terms of tuning capabilities. This guy is gonna fry the server.

Dude, just ####in leave. No one wants to listen to your #### anymore.
Good for you, you went to the stihl factory and can pass a test. Its not that hard to get factory certified.
You're right alot of people shouldn't own a chainsaw, and it sounds like you are one of them. You are definately lacking in the common sense department bud. MORE AIR + MORE FUEL = MORE POWER
