If I recall correctly I went gasket less and squish was around .025. I'm wondering if its simply that the P&C are worn out. Don't have any other explanation. Maybe when it cools off down here, I'll tear it apart and do some measuring.

With a squish of .025 there has to be something wrong. Maybe the wrong ring end gap or cylinder out of round. Something is not right.

Well, supposedly the ring was for a partner5500 or 325. Maybe it is the wrong one or a manuf. goof. Recall it came from the "Greek" on EBay. Maybe should have gotten OEM. May still do that when I feel like tearing it apart again. Maybe just spring for the Oem piston kit. Saw one for about $47.00 . Less than the $55 or so I saw the other day.

If you really like the saw then going for the piston kit might not be a bad idea.

Well Chris just left, we got a cut in on that big log with the KB7. That was a blast.

I also made a trade and ended up with that nice Poulan 64 bow saw.

It has us baffled at the moment though, the saw runs good but when ever running at full speed and turned up on end straight up, it really starts running rich and smokes.

Not sure whats going on yet, the carb has been completely gone through, governor blocked off etc.

The carb sits on a angle on this to begin with and when the saw is straight up, like it would be using the bow the carb is over 90deg and I'm starting to wonder if its the main nozzle leaking extra fuel in it or something....

Will be digging deeper into this one in the near future.

You will have to show a picture when you get a chance.

Chris, nice saw! I think that Mark got the short end of the bar, so to say :D..

This Dayton badged 306 sure would look good next to my Dayton badged 245SA. If it is indeed a runner not needing much, the BIN w/ shipping doesn't seem too bad of a price.

Dayton GAS Chainsaw | eBay

Does anybody see anything interesting here? The condition of the saws, compression & spark, would be the major factor, and I haven't called the seller to ask. Maybe $100.00 for all five ?

5 chain saws

Shipping is realistic for a change. Newer bar and chain?

5 chain saws

Nothing there to get excited about. Offer 50-75 maybe.

Good luck.

Good luck.

Carl, the problem I've found with "realistic" shipping cost is folks stuff everything in a barely big enough box, & few of them bother to properly protect the bar and/or tape the edges/folds of the box. Inexperienced shippers seem adverse to using a box big enough to accomodate the bar. I never did receive the replacement bar for my 4400, & a saw arrived about a week ago where I could see the tear the bar made in the box; the good news is the bar was still attached to the saw with no apparant harm done.

The 5 saw deal doesn't excite me much. The 2 TH saws I could use, but the 3 'larger' saws would need to be the better consumer saws with AV to get my interest. Maybe as a pile of parts saws for harvesting?????

I figure the 306 won't last long. If I had really wanted it I wouldn't posted the link here in the Poulan thread, I would've :taped:.
