OK , I'll start you off with the carb tune for the 3.3 - H and L whole way in and 1 full turn out should get-er running.

Oh man, everyone says that lol. This thing has an unlimited coil right? Wish it had free shipping. Also wanted a bigger Poulan although this thing could become my limbing saw.

That's all I can find online on that model Craftsman though

As Poge indicates, the 316. prefix is for MTD (and Ryobi for non lawn products). Poulan carries the 358. prefix.

As for the craftsman 316.360220 - they are much newer and do not think they are Poulan. From what I can remember Poulan did not make a newer saw at 55cc's.

that's how you learn. by doing. I wasn't always a master mechanic. still not. lol. but, I'm comfortable tearing in to saws now and somewhat successful in getting them to run if I can find parts. now, that's the biggest challenge.
gotta warn you though. approach this carefully or you'll end up suffering from the same CAD that Guido, myself, and many others have contracted. I've got a bunch, way more than I need. but its a relatively cheap hobby and a lot easier than rebuilding cars while still getting the satisfaction that's so hard to come by. plus, each saw is different. I like the pre-chain brake saws. out of all my saws, only one has a chain brake. those old designers knew what they were doing.

Cool. Tuning this Makita was a pain. Wasn't confident enough to run it with one hand and turn the H screw with the other. Visions of a kickback right to the head kept dancing around in my brain.
Watched that video about 5 times before I tuned my saw.
No chain brake!? Oh hell no, think I need a chain brake. Although, never had a kick back. I'm kind of paranoid about the bar tip and dirt.
I'm only going to collect two saws, not including my POS Homelite. Well maybe three saws. The Makita, a Poulan, and a small Dolmar. Four saws if I can find another HD 6421 and do the BBC kit on one. Five saws if I can get a 60-ish Poulan, bigger Poulan, two 6421s, and a little Dolmar. Okay 5 saws max
I'm up to 8 saws so I have CAD under control, saw don't take up much room as a car does. Room a problem, stack them, can't do that with a car.
Beside, i work on autos for a living dang if I'm going to do it for a hobby.
