Now you know if you set it up so we can do some 2 cut timed cuts like at the Ohio spring gtg Ralph had, I bet the whole northern clan will make the trip too. If it dont fall on a real race weekend.
Got to have some playtime too.

Have to get with Ralph to find out about these GTG deals.

Lets see, have to get a motel for the wife and daughter (to keep you guys away from them)

Oh yea forgot about the dog too, in case some West Va guys come

Have to notify the police about saw people being in the area,,,,,

Nope, sounds like too much trouble, how 'bout your place?

Hmmmmmm just might. I could get some round poplar or pine 9"-12" round for hotstart racing and get some decent 26"-30" year dried ash for 1 cut long bar 1 cut racing and just testing of saws on.
Maybe even holler at some good friends if they would bring the alky saws and piped race saws for a demonstration and some racing if enough alky or stock appearing saw show up too.
Could have some stock gas classes, some alky if any shows and then some piped or just open class.
If there is any interest and you dont mind not racing on square cant and just having some fun. I might try to work something out down the road. I know for a fact some dates are already taken for the racing weekends for others.
So how many could make a gtg for hotstart 2 cut racing and maybe some bigger 1 cut racing. Could be hotstart over wood or from saws running on the ground and both hands on top of wood. Somewhere between Nov-DEC maybe.
How many would be interested.

The 2165 seems like a wasted saw. The 2159 with a muffler mod will eat a 2165. A 2165 is like carrying around a sick 2171. All the wieght with none of the power.

And yes the 036 was a better saw than the 361.

You are right about the Jreds, I believe, but you are wrong about the Stihls, if you let the 361 scream, as it should.....

From another tread;

Lets try this comparison!!!

I was never a big fan of the 036. In stock form is was just a lackluster saw. Since coming here I have ran one that I muffler modded for a friend and the saw was better.

The 361 comes out and it does everything the 036 didn't............namely pulling an 18-20" bar with 3/8's chain with authority. Add to that the better AV that the 361 has.

The 361 gets my vote!!!

I read those reports back in 2004 - that's what lead me to the MS361......

There is simply no reasoned thought in a statement like that.

More acurately, it would be "All of the weight with MOST of the power". A good saw design is more than CC's. The intake, the muffler, the crankcase, the cylinder design. Nearly all of what makes the 2171/372XP so good is there on the 2165/365. Taking away a few CC's will of course take away a little bit of the power, but it's the same basic saw, and every saw in that family rips.

PS#1 The early 2065/365 with the Zama carb did not run as good as the current ones.

PS#2 The reason the 2159/359 "wake up" to a muffler mod is because they come out of the box in a trance.

2165 is nice and light specially if you've been lugging 440's and 460's doin' the same thing

There is virtually no true weight differense between a 2165 and a 440, it is there in the spec sheets only.........:buttkick: :)

Yep, spec sheets - real life, two different things...
