Last weekend I took the husky 2100 and the Poulan 4000 to the woods, first time cutting with both. This weekend, here's what I'm taking cutting. Poulan 3000 with a muff mod and 20" bar, Poulan 4200 with 24" bar. Only made a test cut before with the 3000 and haven't cut with the 4200 yet. Should be fun, no red fir is safe!

Who remembers Western Auto? They sold the Wizard 214 (Micro XXV in red clothes). It's sick, tho, with 95 PSI. Saw is in a box waiting on a Caber ring from Greece. You know how common a 36.5mm ring is, lately? Not very!

You just don't know who to ask.

Tell me about this chain........I have a loop that came to me on 20" roller nose bar that has SEARS stamped on one side. This supposedly came off a 111S Jonsereds. Other than that I've never seen this type of chain........is this something used for the old Sears auto sharp system?

That is old school power-sharp chain. Most people don't realize they made power-sharp chain in 3/8 picco, 3/8 reg, and 404. Some older saws had an arched stone built into the saw for touching up the chain. The new Oregon power-sharp systems make you put the plastic tip cover on to sharpen. Lots of craftsman 2.3/Poulan 25a top handles came with the power-sharp built into their clutch covers.

Cut and split about a cord and a half of wood this weekend. Mostly red fir and a little black pine for my home fire pit. Didn't get to run the 4200 unfortunately, got to our place and realized the fuel line had a small crack in it I hadn't seen before and I didn't have any extra with me. Ran the 3000 though and it cut awesome with a brand new chain and muff mod it was out cutting a Stihl MS310 that was with us. Up until the clutch went bad. Didn't think I'd have issues with both saws, but at least they are both easy fixes. Luckily the other saws we had with us worked as they should. Here is a pic of the little bit of black pine I took home and the saws.

Anyone have an extra Poulan 3000 clutch they're willing to part with in good shape?

Don't know if you need anything else for those Poulans Nate.
I use these folks for everything from good (cheap) kits, line, fuel filters etc. Full line of Poulan OEM. Prices are excellent. Shipping (US only) and service great. They have good aftermarket substitutes as well for other machines.

OEM clutch is running $7 or so.

I see Mark has the same idea.
