Nice find!! I'm gonna take a guess and say its a 5200. Looks to be an early one, whichever it is. Looks to be smooth front case and single screw top cover. That has to be one of the dirtiest saws I have seen. o_O I bet it still cleans up pretty good.

Gregg,
Thanks Gregg, other than my 2300 this is the only mag Poulan I have owned. I'm very eager to get into it. I was working near a fellas house that has tons of junk sitting around. He just happened to be sitting in his drive so I decided to stop and chat. I asked if he has any old dead saws in all of his wonderful junk. He said there is an old Poulan in one of the buses out back but watch out for the copperheads. Though fithly there is zero case or cover damage on this one.

Heck yes! Copperheads are mean little dudes. Unlike the rattlers we have here that just defend themselves, copperheads will chase. I was checking out this saw in my little saw shed, I do believe its getting thrown on the bench next. I have been wanting to mess with one of these for awhile.

I purchased a poulan woodshark (cool name, much better than farm boss, or rancher) from Walmart yesterday. 100 bucks for 33 kick-ass cc's and a wicked 14" blade. Pruned a bunch of trees with it, and I can now understand what all the fuss is about. Poulan Kicks Ass!

Any ideas on how to get this sticker label to act right?

Not sure if there isn't a better way, but I would clean up the old adhesive as best you can. I would then spray some 3M adhesive or some other brand on to the surfaces and reposition the decal.

Went out Saturday morning after breakfast to fall a dead red fir that we've had our eye on since last fall. Father in law and brother in law and I. Ended up being about a cord all said and done.
I'd say we had enough saws for the job and the 3 of us. We had a Canadian 8500 (orange), a 5400, my 5200 and my S25CVA for limbing and a 4400. A bit overkill but we all wanted to run our
saws. Here are a few pics from the outing.

I found a good PP335 with the angular husqv-style case, and it had become disabled the same way my 330 was -- someone had misconnected the impulse and vent lines.

Would I have needed to remove the tank to install a new impulse hose? It did help me get to know the new saw but I didn't find much, except a square washer on the front left AV corner that doesn't look exactly right.

It is a type 1, Poulan/Weed Eater, White Consolidated 1K237D777. Does this information provide a way to date it?

It has the HDA 49 carb. Is there a better one? I plan to open the muffler.

I would like it better with a chain brake. When I ordered a chain brake for my 380 it came with a muffler too. In general does adding a chain brake improve or reduce the value of a PP3xx? I know -- I have saved the all the original covers. Just askin.

The vent assembly is missing, no duckbill, tubing joiner or cap. Temporarily I have a crimped off hose in the hole. I will try my Husqv dealer, right?

Thanks

Don
