new saw, husky, stihl or poulan pro for

cant tell the model on that one but seeing what he's splitting back there id say its a nice photo op...my biggest bars don't get mounted unless they are used that day. waaay to much back strain. but since we are doing photo ops...this one could handle her... ...and it's 'MERICAN! (said with a...

new saw, husky, stihl or poulan pro for

funny? I think not... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ...why yes it does have a boost port.... it sounds like you dont cut a whole lot and yes your dad can take care of most anything on his property with a 16" bar saw...it all depends on how much time and effort you want to spend doing this...

    dolmar 6400 or Husqvarna 555?

6400...go forth and fear not! even the bigger ones are not really any problem with the 6400's. Mine is an 07 from baileys...it wears a 24" speed tip all the time. I never felt a loss of pulling with it i even put on a 3/8ths 8 pin rim on it with no adverse effects unless its buried in dry...

My 9 saw plan itchin for wood!

It'll be tough for sure! Having to decide will be hard! I certainly dont need them all in the running stable. The L65 should probably go downstairs behind the bar but she's ported and running an 8 pin rim on a 20" bar...I want to see what it can do. I think I may put the ported 84cc BB kit...

My 9 saw plan itchin for wood!

when i got the 655 off of craigslist, it had no decals on the upper handle part as it had been replaced(still had the part number tag on it) thats why its black and probably not grey. I surmise the owner dropped something on it as the footpad was also broken. so when i bought decals to put on...

My 9 saw plan itchin for wood!

well between that and the 2100... yeah i know i'm looking forward to running both the 655 and the 5200 as ive heard nothing but good about them...however, i love running the 2100 just to make my grin bigger and everyone else put their homeowner saws back in the trucks...she gets stronger every...

My 9 saw plan itchin for wood!

I say nine even though there is only seven pictured. I have a white top 50 Rancher and 23 Compact getting finished up at the bar in the basement. Nine saw plan as the L65, 5200, and 655 BP all need final tuning in wood worthy of them. the 2150 hasn't even broken in the rings after porting...

...And the rings aren't even broken in yet!

I tried! I tried fitting a piece of screen in the groove in the end of the muffler but it just blew out upon throttling it up! the original owner welded the two halves together making it one piece so an original screen/baffle wont go back in it. I have seen some with the plate with holes...

...And the rings aren't even broken in yet!

this thing was a PITA! I must say after all the saws i've redone the engine on this one was the hardest! I could have used a couple of extra hands to hold the block/side cases to line everything up and get the four main bolts in. I think i had the main rod bearings(that are loose all 28 of...

    trade a husqvarna 340 for a 66

definately a score! that looks pretty low hour for useage! should be a real runner and handle a 24" bar nicely. anything less than that should be a screamer...after some modding:)

when is a BIG saw (100cc) worthwile

Efficiency is key! Sure you could use a 24-28 inch bar on a 70cc saw to buck a 30"+ trunk of hardwoods by cutting from both sides but i like the fact that i can do it in one cut...plus when i was cutting a big mulberry at a buddies house part of the trunk was maybe 20" and a buddy was using his...

    Poulan 2150

i gut them good! ill take a cut-off wheel and cut out the baffle inside making the rows of holes into a big hole and then braze a deflector over another hole i put on the side. I'll try to get a pic ifn i can. i stay away from holes in the front of the muffler, doesnt put the exhaust where i...

    Poulan 2150

Don't forget the Muff Mod!! Ive redone two 2150's that were given to me. I widened both the intake and exhaust on them and Opened up the mufflers. I run 18" bars on them after that! better on the back for limbing and really doesn't bog them down until they meet 16" of hardwood...then i just...

    Nos 900d!

Finally got around to the proof video since nothing really happens around here without video I finally got one of it running today. Didn't bother tuning it in, since she's a shelf queen. Definately rich on the high jet but it also still has the factory vane governor also. Thing runs like...

    What's on your bench 2/22/13

just the oldies! got a remington super 754 on the bar downstairs right now getting the usual complete restoration...what a PITA that engine is to assemble!...working on the bar in winter allows me to keep one eye on the kiddos and the other on an 88CC powerhouse:)...while jammin out to Zepplin...

How deep of a scratch in the cylinder will affect it?

depends on the saw i guess? i just rebuilt an echo cs-370 for a buddy who accidentally straight gassed it. I put a new piston kit in it but it had one maybe two large scratches between the transfers and one of the ports all the way up and down the wall. no chrome whatsoever. however i got it...
