    Oregon 28 ton log splitter

If your looking for a splitter that is VERY SIMILAR to the Speeco and Oregon, you will notice they are almost the same. This one is faster though with a bigger pump. Check it out

    Oregon 28 ton log splitter

One thing nice about the Oregon 28 tons are the tire size. They use the 12" rim instead of the 8", makes it nice for towing etc.

Iron & OAK Log splitter ?

If you want a quality splitter Iron & Oak is definitely a nice machine.

Introducing the new Log Splitter Line from DHT (Dirty Hand Tools)

I am not sure about about which stores physically stock them, that may be a question for DHT but you can also get them shipped to you direct: DHT Log Splitters They look very similar to an Iron & Oak but don't have the fenders or the bolt on tires. (Or the price tag!)

    Skid Steer Log Splitters

I thought I would revive this thread a little. Its been few years and some new skid steer splitters out there. This "tire to tire loader splitter" is nice as it can split both upside down and facing forward just by rolling the stick like you would a bucket. It may be possible to build one but...

    Log Splitter Hydraulic Oil ??

Well it looks like a lot of people use different oils and they are happy. So as long as your using a good quality oil can you really go wrong? Other then that I would go off of your climate in your area or what temps you plan to spit in and go from there. Costco sells 5 gallon buckets of oil...

Now isn't that the truth! To bad I didn't have the rust start a bit sooner. :)

Bobcat Skidsteer What Size Woodsplitter will it run.

Steve is about right on here with cycle times etc. On inverted splitters the 4 way wedge takes quite a bit more time changing out as you have to bolt on and off the slide each time you change it. You can see some here: 20-Ton Skid Steer Wood Splitters | Bobcat Log Splitter 30-Ton Skid...

Tractor Loader Upside Down Log Splitter - Need Advise

Hi, This unit is a excellent unit and we have had ZERO problems with them. If your flow rate is only 9.7 GPM then I would not recommend this unit it. Your cycle time would be painfully slow at around 27 seconds. I always recommend 15 GPM or higher, especially for a 36" stroke. Mike

    Huskee 22 Ton Log Splitter

I fully agree with this post. Its like comparing a 1/2 ton to a 1 ton. The Iron & Oak is definitely the work horse of the two but as you mentioned they are the price of a one ton compared to half ton as well as seen here: 22 Ton Gas Wood Splitters & Log Splitters | Iron & Oak

    Not a Speeco Fan

I think Champion log splitters are more for the light residential use. I wonder why Lowes will not be carrying the Troy Bilt anymore?

Or just get a Iron & Oak splitter. :cool2:

    wood splitter choices

It really is a personal choice when it comes to deciding to use your tractor or not. You can pick up a 3 pt wood splitter 16 ton for pretty cheap 600-700 because there is no engine, pump etc unless you go PTO way, and not another engine to maintain. Of course if you need bigger then you can go...

    Not a Speeco Fan

That is a bummer. If you look on the bright side you will only have one more thing to fix and thats the engine! ;)
