    Firewood Question

My goodness, you mean to tell me there's fungus among us? Sheesh, I hope he can find himself some perfect, dry, kiln dried face cords for sale. I burn lots of fungus at the beginning of every fire season. No biggie to me.

    Lightweight bar options for Husky

Don't know if you fellers remember but Oregon was putting a test together for a "microlite" bar and two chains? That test kind of fell asleep but I received notification yesterday that the test is on again. Perhaps this bar will be a lightweight option?

do you own woods or scrounge

Both, I'm a scrounge from way back. I have access to a large grove of locust which is getting hammered by some type of grub. Sad to see the trees dying before your eyes but the free heat is awesome. I'm not bragging but the grove looks a lot better with the dead stuff cleaned up.

    WIN A FREE CHAINSAW

Not the one I wanted though. I'll stick with Husqy and Stihl from my locals. I work for a fine, small company that sells rock crusher liners and such. Manganese steel liners are a big part of the business and because of the large influx of "offshore" manganese, a lot of american foundries are...

    Stihl MS271

I think the majority of the "bad rap" that homeowner saws receive is due to the homeowner. Simple maintenance goes miles towards achieving long service life from a homeowner saw. The plastics/polymers have advanced significantly as well as air filtering and engine quality. They (home owner saws)...

    Fiskars...

Correct. I would not (do not) use an elevated chopping block. It can come back on you..... All around excellent splitter though.

    Fiskars...

Agreed, the X25 is a nice piece. Does a good job with a short handle.

    Stihl BG 86 C-E

They do blow lots of snow too, great way to quickly clean off the truck. It starts so quick and easy that it's as quick to use it for snow removal as a brush.

    Stihl BG 86 C-E

    Hey Zogger...small wood haul pics

Burn it all, big or small. I like to make use of the whole tree. Smallies make quick, intense heat and fill the gaps nicely. I also use the dickens out of my back yard fire pit too. Sun or snow, I don't care.
