Stihl 044

[Lowhog]

Found this on a local add. The 044 is in the shop for a checkup and tune up before I pick it up. Its been sitting a few years and has very limited use over its lifetime. Untouched original and excellent plus condition? Hard find around here in this shape.

Same here although I picked up a 440r mag in good shape up here for 450 around a year or so ago... One of the New ones that came out after the rerelease... I still prefer the old school screw caps to the flippy ones though.. Just didn't want to pass it up a good deal

Just a standard ES bar. I have a wide nose on my old Homelite.

It's the number of teeth on the nose sprocket. New bars have fewer.

I had a 440/046 hybrid and I got some replacement caps that just snap in with a 1/4 turn from @Definitive Dave .

I'll give the bar sprocket a count when I have the saw in hand. I'll be taking that bar off and will be mounting a 20" on it.

I would have that one in a glass case. I have a 20"light. I just buck logs for firewood these days I'm just a retired old fart. I'll keep the 25" that's on it for reserve.
