.. so i go outside today to start my 2 week old 361, its had about 3 tanks of gas through it so far. i wanted to mess around with the tuning a bit and basically just play with it
.. 20+ pulls later, soaked in sweat,it wont start!!! damn this thing!! brand new saw wont start, piece of #### stihl, knew i shoulda got a husqvarna!!

...needless to say, apparently these things require fuel to run.
open the flippy cap and "pssssssssss" its bone dry. :dizzy:

i always shut them down as soon as i hear them bog the first time telling you its about to run outa fuel. in the future ill pop open the caps on my saws and check the fuel tanks before trying to start them 20-30 times in 100 degree weather. more than a few cursed words were thrown around, all pissed and sweaty as a result of my own stupidity, seems to be a trend.

should got a husqvarna

Hey Gary-

Alaska was awesome. I managed a small air show on two fires near Delta Junction for a while and then moved out to Healy and camped out near the Healy river. Mosquitoes weren't that bad and fishing for Grayling was good. I was mighty tempted to just stay up there and find a full-time job and everything. :)

I was showing a friend my 944 the other day and he asked me to start it up. I turned it on and fiddled around with the compression release a little, pulled the rope till I was blue in the face and it wouldn't hit a lick. After he left, I looked at the saw and I had forgotten to use the choke! I pulled the choke and it started immediately. Again, I felt like an idiot.

LOL! Just what I was thinking.

Reminds me of a story.

Had a mustang, was really fast like 425hp fast. My addiction before saws, lol.

Pull up to a 944 in a nearby town, little punk driving it. Man itlooked like junk. Took off on green and he smoked me terribly.

Got back to town and talked to him, looked under the hood and it had a 911T engine that had been souped up to the max.

Man that lil POS was smokin fast! Embarrasing.

About the 361, man you should be ashamed for cussing out your saw. Poor feller. Wasnt it's fault the owner don't know how to put gas in.

yes it would!

Glad to hear your trip to Alaska went well Jacob. I gots to go up there myself one of these days.

Gary

There was all kinds of good hunting around where we were. Moose all over the place and one of the division supervisors on the fire shot a pretty good size bear that was raiding one of the native camps. The locals there told me to go south from Delta into the taller hills for the bigger bears. I saw some Caribou on the farms but none in the wild. You would have loved it for sure.

Man, I only dream of going hunting in Alaska! Would be better than chainsaws!
