That BB kit looks great Matt, a lot better than the one I got from baileys which I plan on trying out in the near future (I am back in Vic for a month or so).

The transfers on my kit need a bit of a clean out - maybe I'll do some mild port work.

Yeah I'd really like to get one of these kits ported too mate. All 5 of the kits that came looked the same with no noticable variation. Quality control looks good at this stage so have another dozen on order and hopefully see the same quality. All the kits sent looked as good across 4 saw models.

Al, wanna do a port job mate? :D

Oh very good, that should make for some interesting threads/videos :D

Yeah should do mate. Gotta watch that I don't stir Al up too much about the 371 or the next thing I'll see of my ported BB Dolmar is on eBay. He gets very touchy and hormonal about that 371 :D

Matt, I've been fighting CAD for about 2 months thinking about taking a 6401 out to 84cc and tweaking it. I've been looking at the Bailey's package and I could get a new saw and the 84cc top end delivered in Oz for about A$900. (I'm thinking it would make a great Christmas present for me...)

Realistically, I really don't need the saw, but the project just 'seems right', 'stirs my loins', whatever.

If you guys don't mind me butting in on your project I'd like contribute, that way if I do take the plunge you guys will probably have already made all the mistakes.

So, has anyone measured the time/area of the transfer ports? Will the transfer tunnels feed that area?

What's the biggest freaking carb you can put on the manifold?

Haha yes, Al sure loves his 371. I wouldn't mind trying out a real 371 or 372 someday, just to see what they are all about. My 365 copy is not to bad but im sure the real husky is a lot better.

Scrapheap? No way mate, anyway 84cc (or is that 85cc?) should whip it's butt...

Don't bet on it, your 371 hammers pretty well mate. Yeah OK OK, it's bloody 84cc. Geeze, one typo and you're all over me like a fat kid on a cupcake...

I did mention 84cc in my opening post!!! :D

We will have to meet up sometime Rudolf and give you a run with the 371.

Now that Chinese saw should have a BB kit on it! :)

That sounds like a plan Al :greenchainsaw:

and yes it does need a BB kit - thats the plan. I bought it as a 365 special, but as you would probably guess it turned out not to be. The sneaky chinaman told that i shouldn't trust the label because its not actually a real husky... even though the box says "made in sweden". so yeah, I need to get another intake boot and probably a walbro carb for it.

Matt can get the boots.

What's up with the carb? No good?

Oh thats good to know. Well the carb works fine, starting etc. but I did a muffler mod on it and cant get the WOT past 13500. I guessing i will need a bit more adjustment for the BB kit.

P.S. sorry for high jacking your thread Matt.

I've got half a dozen of the 365 BB kits coming mate if you're interested.
Some of the things these Chinese guys do cracks me up. The guy I deal with (who by the way hasn't let me down yet and has in fact done more for me than asked) said to start with that they get the same gear from the same OEM suppliers as Stihl, Husky etc.
Turns out the company he sourced the "genuine" 070 from painted it Red and Black in case they got in trouble from our customs. They were shi*ting themselves by all accounts. They also painted out "Stihl' on the "genuine" ES bar they are sending so they didn't get in trouble either. The 365 Husky copies I have coming have no Husky markings on them at all.

Yes, I might have to get a BB kit from you sometime.

Well its a good thing they are scared of customs, because quite a few copies have been sold here on ebay listed as genuine and people pay big money for then only to find out they are not genuine quality.

It seems to be advertised as an 84cc, but technically speaking the sums say its 84.738cc so really its more of an 85cc. sorry for pulling out the calculator lol

Yeah I know. There is a guy in Australia who listed one as "genuine" which was a hit on another somewhat lame Australian chainsaw forum. A whole heap of gullible people responded about "WOW, how rare is that thing?" Blah blah blah. I was going to report him and then found out he had another "genuine 070" for sale. Outstanding! I made sure that my next post in that thread included the link to his SECOND genuine 070...
By the way, have you ever tried to report someone on eBay when you weren't the buyer of the item? Had me well and truly confused so I gave up.
He got AUD$1250 for a saw he would have landed for about AUD$450 or less.

Can you please pass this information onto Al? He's been cyber bullying me on this cc matter...

Well that doesn't make it 85 either... close enough I guess. :D

:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange: getting good!

So Al is doing a BB7900? If so, can't wait, going to be good!!

Nah mate...it's a BB EIGHTY FIVE hundred! :D

Don't expect anything too exciting Will. They are alot different to what I'm used to.
54mm opens up doors for a possible piston change. Will have to look into that.

Cool man we need to talk, since I'll be doing one as well. Need to get baseline numbers first then see. I wish I had lots of time to run saws, then I'd run it stock first.

Hey stop this big bore collusion fellas. No point trying to have a one of a kind saw if we're all gonna be sheep on the matter :D

I've got a new Stihl 029 piston here if that helps Al? :D
