If you couldnt get Stihl ....what would be your 2nd choice.

I am not sure what mine would be, I havent run anything else new.

I am afraid it might be Husky....so tell me what would you use.

I'll throw a spanner in the works...

Top Handle - Stihl 200T
50cc - Stihl 261
70cc - Dolmar 7900 (I like the 372XP's as well)
90cc - Husqvarna 390XP
Big - Husqvarna 3120XP

Anybody that blindly follows one brand needs to think outside the box as every manufacturer has a kick arse model in certain categories. I don't even look at the sticker on the saw to be honest :)

:agree2: Opinions will be allot different, but I ended up liking Husqvarna's for the most part. I do like the 440,460, and 660, but you see whats in my signature. That don't mean I wouldn't ever own one of the other though. Different strokes for different folks.

I agree entirely. Here's my evalutation.

Top Handle - 200T
50cc - 346XP then MS261
60cc - Who needs one, lol.
70cc - MS440 w/460 topend, then 460, the 372XP.
90cc - MS660, then 390XP
120cc - MS880 w/088 coil, then 3120XP

Don't care what the brand is as long as it is well built, i can get parts for it and is reliable.

There are tools for every job. The merits of the tool and how it handles the work at hand are far more important than the label on that tool.

Or, as I like to put it - "It's better to have the right tool, than to be a tool"

What a mongrel mix that lot Mathew! :msp_w00t:

I noticed there isn't a 660 in that lot!

I've got at least one saw from every manufacturer listed in this thread, and like them all. My take is to buy what's reliable, affordable, and supportable. A good local dealer makes all the difference in that decision.

Just checking back in...boy how some folks can get off track....I wanted to know what the Stihl guys would do...not those of you who think they are 2nd rate...;)

Sure is a good thing I wont ever have to make that choice isnt it.
