I am Using my stove and it's Aug, Temp now at 1:52pm is 50°F this morn was 5°C someone else can do the math on that one about 46°F.
Ah the Poplar is doing a good job of keeping the house warm ;)This wood was cut in Early June and split small, very dry and burns great (2 cords of it) Now my Pine& Spruce are my winter wood lol.
Reports of snow in the Mountains, ya I am Ready for old man Winter!

Man all I got to say is enjoy it. You made me daydream a little bit while reading you post about the fire going and snow in the mountains.

We have set record highs here for the past 5 days and supposed to do it again today. But have a cold front coming through Saturday with forecasted highs in the mid to upper 90s. Thank you for the gettaway you gave me in my mind. Some pics of the fire going and wood stack would be nice.

We have had upper 40° s at night but warm during the day. Tomorrow they are saying high in the lower 90°s thats too hot. I saw the report of snow in the mountains this morning.

Down in the 40's last night but hits mid 70's during the day, way too early for the ol woodburner.

Yup, you're just a stones throw from here. Next summer, I wanna do a Canuckian road trip, I haven't been to Ft. Steele since like 4th Grade. Maybe a BC, Alberta mix?

There's some absolutely gorgeous country up North!

EDIT: Although, I've heard the hoops you have to jump through to go into Canukia sucks! Not like back in the day.

It's not so bad just leave the handgun at home I will lend you mine lol!!!! like that would work,
I get a kick out of the U.S boarder guy's/gals when they say you have any Booze, Ammo or tabaco? I always feel like saying what do you think I am driving into the States for?

Heat is still on

I wish you could pipe some of it down to my neck of the woods. It is 7:00 PM and it is 98.9 degrees with a heat index of 106 degrees.

If our weatherman is right we will be getting some relief by the weekend. Got my wood ready but it will be most likely around the end of October before we will be burning stovewood in this area.

Nosmo

Man at least you guys are hitting the 60s and 70s at night. My parents place, they barely crack 80 at night after 105+ in the daytime. You need a thirty degree +/- difference between day and night temps to really cool off.

Thank god I moved to one of the top three coolest spots in TX in the summer. Gotta love altitude! (I'm higher than you Nate! :D )

Another day, another excessive heat advisory! Maybe it will cool off next week?

The south has gotten nuked this year. . . I can't handle heat like that. Especially when you put any humidity with it.

Makes me shut down and want to die. I lose my appetite to eat anything, and I have no energy.

Now, you make the temperature 55° outside, I can work all day long like I'm in heaven.

First year in several that we didn't have at least a small fire in August. We get the occasional stretch of damp weather where the mercury can't eke past 55-60*.

Pretty soon it'll be cool enough to have evening fires in the cookstove to make suppah. We get to mothball the gas range until Memorial Day.
