Do you think I can buff this out?

Didn't Brad just start a thread about being complacent?

1972 Chevy K20 4x4 16,800 original miles. Bought it two years ago from a fire department out in Wisconsin (original owners). Irreplaceable. Oops :)

You always wanted a convertible....

That is a shame. Notice how the safety glass in the windshield stayed in one piece.

Was it an act of nature or a misdirect?

Gary will cry when he sees these pictures.

UH OH :msp_ohmy:

Just a little bit of elbow grease and she will be fine :msp_ohmy:

Wow. That's painful. What a BEAUTIFUL truck in the first photo. It's almost impossible to find those old trucks in such great shape. Very jealous! And then I saw the "after" shot...

Find a good body shop.

Yep, Gary will fall to the ground sobbing like a little girl.

I will admit a bit of pain.

Sorry for your loss, you might be able the switch the cab out.

It was called two guys trying to over direct a tree. Then the guy with the saw cut through part of the hinge causing the tree to go to the side.

One of the workers had just moved my truck out of the way of the intended direction of the tree about 5 minutes before this happened. I learned a valuable lesson today.....NEVER keep any truck or equipment within any direction of a tree you are falling!!!

Thank god nobody was hurt.

It's a goner....it's more than just the cab. The entire body is shifted to the driver side. The suspension and front axle are bent, the fuel tank ruptured dumping the entire tank onto the ground, the steering shaft was bent....and that is just what I could see in a few minutes.

Afraid that one is going to need a couple tubes of spot putty with the buff job....... Pull the roof up and you still have a nice wood hauler/stump puller. Should not be much of a job to swap on another cab, we have done a couple within a days time.

Edit:
Just read your edit on the last post but you still have some good stuff there.

Sorry for your loss bud, that hurts.

One time me and my dad were out getting firewood and he was falling a tree, he had me move the pickup and I asked him why.
He said, sometimes #### happens and trees just go......

Oh man, it's worse than I thought. OUCH!!!

Time to break out the scotch. :sidefrown:

Not that this will help much, I torpedoed a fairly nice '64 C10 with a big Fir snag, it was a mortal blow. The dammed tree went like a locomotive for several hundred feet, it didn't stop at the Chevy.

I'll give ya $40 for the tires and winch.......well, I'll be generous and give you $50, but you pay shipping:msp_tongue:

You learn some things in life the easy way, some the hard way.......I have always hated the hard way myself:msp_mad:

Something has to salvageable.

I heard of an owner of a tree service that was wanting to get an insurance claim on one of his trucks. He dropped 3 different trees in the direction of this truck and missed with all three trees, LOL. Then there are situations like this where you move it out of the way and score a direct hit, LOL, classic Murphy's Law right there.

Will their insurance pay for it, or were they working for you, as in your workers?

Sam
