Whats your favorite sounding saw or saw that you have used? I would have to say for me, my grandad's old Olympyk 254. Under load, that thing sounded very low and loud (Not like any of these new saws that are whiny and regulated by the EPA) but when that thing idled, it sounded like a tank! No joke.

The big Homelites... They will rip your ears to shreds WOT in the cut... with their "mufflers".

Also, the old gear drive Macs, or a Super 250.

The big Solo Twin Cylinders sound cool as hell too...

Can I pick 8?

leehas 8 166s is a sound like no other!

My fav is a 153 idling and echoing off .

I'm sure my experience is more limited than most here, but I really like the exhaust tone of the old 031. It sounds bigger than it is, and last time I went cutting with my brother he also made a comment about the way that saw sounds in a cut.

just like the other thread a couple of months ago there will be a few along soon to say that the husky 288XP has a good note

oh for me it's me 390XP

My favorite sounds are ms460 or the husky 546xp I can listen to them. It all day. I just wish I had one. :(. Out my only two runners the super sounds like a dirt bike.

MS200T. Love how fast they rev, and what the exhaust lacks in being huge it makes up in being snappy and distinctive. You can hear for a long ways when somebody's up in a tree.
