At a 3 gallon per minute pour rate, one doesn't have a great deal of time to shut it off before it goes everywhere. Seriously, I tried feathering the button teh one time when I spilled the most gas. so you CAN feather the button and still have the auto-shutoff work?

So my master's degree in engineering isn't enough?

I've ben running a chainsaw a long time - no injuries yet (knock wood). I've also "poured" a lot of gas and NEVER spilled as much as I did last night with "no-spill"

Well, it's obviously my technique. Will have to try again.

Yeah it is your technique.

Because the Majority of No-Spill users dont have the issues you do.

Easy way to prove you are right is to try a couple more new cans, If you still have Issues obviously it is the can...................................

Not sure what you mean by "auto Shut off"? I ease off the button as the tank fills, then release the button right before the tank is full. Filling a small tank, I do not press the button in all the way, that is way too much flow. You can let a little gas out, or a lot. Seriously, I never spill any and use these cans almost daily...

Hahaha.. Seriously.. I need another 101.. I don't think I've been putting it in far enough.. I've mainly been playing around trying to fill a small echo top handle, the nozzle just barley fits in there so you can't see how much your filling. Muscle memory wants to pull it out a bit to see & that's usually when it overflows. I really haven't tried to use it on anything else as I use a different mix on my saws than the businesses & fill them myself with a little non epa 1 gallon.

Oh & to touch base on the green guy again... This is to good not to tell.. So after another day of telling him the same stuff over n' over he was probably fed up with me but mostly his lack of short term memory. He walks up to a piece of brush, it was an wirey apple tree I was limbing for him to drag, he reached down & it sliced his arm somehow. He finally lost it. He had a full blown adult temper tantrum & started kicking the tree, whipping, I mean whipping brush in all directions & cussing up a storm. I actually stood back for a minute wondering if he was about to go postal on me. Now if I could just get him to whip the brush like that in the right direction.. Lol. Too funny, definitely a YouTube moment at the best.

Sounds like the kinda guy Jill wouldn't like very much.

...So my master's degree in engineering isn't enough?...

This site amazes me with its number of engineers. No, I'm not kidding. It's like dentists on a bicycling forum.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at Engineers being interested in mechanical things, come to think of it.

I would imagine that No Spill and Flippy caps require near the same IQ level.:blob2:

thats just a 6 litre can??what about the white one?
is it even a certified can? i don't think it would be here in CA just based on it not been red...who knows

Naaa here is a rare video of someone using a really good gas can AND using flipply caps.. with gloves on no less!!

i got the 2 gallon no spill but i have a few of the 5 gallon no spill jugs, quite nice filling my mower or garden tractor with out spilling gas everywhere.
if you can use a fork to eat bacon you can operate a no spill jug.

LOLI'll have to try that one and see if I'm qualified I'm kinda worried now bacon is a finger food

well i screwed that up after pulling a 12 at work today my mind is a bit tired and foggy, hell i don't even use a fork to eat bacon

I like the old school vented 1 gallon cans, but those no spill ones look interesting. As for the big cans, I like the 5 gallon VP racing cans in white. (Well marked, vented, and easy to see the fuel level)

Now that is frigging hilarious... Dentist in a bicycling forum.. I've always wondered the same thing about all the engineers here too.. I'm sure there are some though..

or use a 3 liter cola bottle or antifreeze jug i did for years till the DOT fined me at the gas station.

Thats it!

I think from now on Im gonna save even more money and use a old ziploc bag to store my gas in.

Hell the old Chickenfat from the Buffalowings I had in there before will probably be enough lube too, So no oil needed either.

Life is good!!

Yeah Dude.. That's what I'm taking about, the "issue" is its only 6in.. Your fuel door being open takes up at least 3-4 of it & most metal flaps are recessed a good couple inches into the body. On top of that, look at the stationary cap at the end of it, how you gunna fit that in your tank?? Most my old cans had at least 8-9 flexible nozzles with nothing at the end.

well now that i have these cans i can see it has molded into the plastic. " not intended for refueling on-road motor vehicles" hence yr problem.;)
