I've got a strange soft spot in my heart for those old green Poulans, got a few myself.

I like my Poulans also. They made awesome saws in the past and I have owned a lot of them. I like the way the put the red white and blue right in their name tags on these years. Don't see that on any saws built today.

Have a 8500 with big can and lots of work done on it (aka race saw) sitting on a shelf at the shop.
OEM revs are 7500 I think and this one is almost 3x that. :)

Edit... sorry it's an 8500 not 5200. The at the shop 5200 is just a normal saw.

I have had a few 5200's, 5400's and a couple 8500's. Dang good saws that were pretty impressive in stock form. Never been around one that was modified.

Glad you picked this up, I was hoping someone was gonna grab it from Jon. I would have loved to have it but I already have a clean 3800 in the collection.
Enjoy it!

22,500 RPM's on a 5200? Prove it...

And you wonder why you have no credibility on this forum.

Nice saw John.

Purchased this saw from Jon1212 and could not be happier! The saw is in awesome condition and was boxed very professionally. He is a awesome member to deal with!

John,

I'm really glad you like it, and don't worry, I still have a few clean green saws.

The 4000 is from 140 Cottle Lane, and has had some extra bananas added.
