So how do you guys like to go about fixing the oil tank windows on a p-series saw?

I don’t understand why that’s even there. Anyone know the purpose of having a pass through?
I’m thinking I can just put a light layer of jb weld down, then put the window down, and then put some more jb weld around the perimeter. Decent amount of access to it from both sides

That should work okay. If not split the cases and get real good access . I have had to do it twice on my p62.

Is splitting the case very difficult with these saws? I’ve done it before on some stihls and Huskies

Yes it's pretty easy actually. Real similar to a 2 series Husky.
The Divider seperates the Gas Tank from oil tank, otherwise Gas @ oil will mix together.

Lmao I think the divider was for the cut off saws. On the cut off saws it was open for one big fuel tank.

I have a couple that have been fixed with JB Weld but I haven't had to do it myself. They've held up well so far. It looks like an easy enough fix other than the small space you have to work in.

That's a very nice saw. It's a cbw witch is a western. It very likely has the 6 transfer top end. You might want to consider keeping that one.

I thought cbw is chain brake wrap handle? Is that wrong? I have a pioneer p42 western also says western right on the side.

The w in cbw is for western. Pull the muffler and take a look at the cylinder.
Walbro carbs on the westerns as well mike ?
