I don’t understand why that’s even there. Anyone know the purpose of having a pass through?

I’m thinking I can just put a light layer of jb weld down, then put the window down, and then put some more jb weld around the perimeter. Decent amount of access to it from both sides

That should work okay. If not split the cases and get real good access . I have had to do it twice on my p62.
 
So how do you guys like to go about fixing the oil tank windows on a p-series saw?

I have a couple that have been fixed with JB Weld but I haven't had to do it myself. They've held up well so far. It looks like an easy enough fix other than the small space you have to work in.
 
That's a very nice saw. It's a cbw witch is a western. It very likely has the 6 transfer top end. You might want to consider keeping that one.
