Nice, that's a good year.model, should be a good truck. Look into a transfer case brace. Cracked tailstocks are a common issue especially if you tune it or tow heavy. Cheap insurance, I fabbed one for a friend but they are pretty reasonable to order. Good.luck with your new to you ride.

Last batch from one tree service. He's had some of these on a rack for years. I've thrown out a few dozen that aren't worth cleaning, much less sharpening or reparing. I do a few at a time. Kind of relaxing

Thanks it's the 6.6 gas motor that has 401 hp and464 lb torque. I will be at the gas pumps more often but the power is nice.
Nice ride loved my 02 Duramax. had a programmer on it So I went through u joints a few times. Word of warning the block heater is 1000w. I put a timer on mine to start in the morning. 1st month of having it plugged in over night had a nice electric bill
A former friend of mine had one of these for many years and never had any issues with it. It was an early 2500 Duramax with the Allison tranny. He towed a 32 foot camping trailer with it and an enclosed trailer many times a year. He swore by that truck to be so much better than a Ford diesel.
That guy going to be running zigzag through the woods trying to cut the head off a bear by the neck. LOL
I do however like his chainsaw holster. It appears to be a universal fit for any saw. Yesterday the guy I bought my 36" bar from asked me if I had any Stihl saws. I told him I had a few but most of my saws are Husqvarnas. He is a former tree company owner. His words were those friggin Stihl saws are so friggin complicated and hard to work on, I'll take a Husqvarna over them anyday.More proof real men use Shihl's!

He must have owned 441s. The rest of the line up is pretty easy...the first xx2 series saw I tore down, I had to look at it a minute...once you figure out the order of operations, they are a breeze to work on. Their top handles are probably the easiest to work on, in fact the Huskies top handles are known to be pretty difficult.

I have both pro and farm Stihls. I have found that even the 2nd tier farm saws kick husky @ss.While I understand, you call that a "real saw"

The stihl farm saws are good but i am not crazy about the weight. But with my RA and tennis elbow i like lighter stuff.I have both pro and farm Stihls. I have found that even the 2nd tier farm saws kick husky @ss.
