What model? I'm not sure that's OE....

Lots of the vintage J'reds had the black plastic 'wing' bolted to the side of the rear handle for stability, but I've never seen that scuff piece in your pic.

Kevin
I believe this is a 372 tank but I've seen them on 2171 as well .
Only thing I can think is for protection of some sort .

The wrap is incomplete....does not terminate to the PTO side with the infamous unobtainium mount. Surprised someone hasn't stuck a ball dingle up inside where they cut it off.....

If they're claiming it's a factory wrap intact, they're lying. And you'll see a giant screw in there on the front pic....that's not supposed to be there. That joint was welded.....my guess is that weld broke there(common) and it was mechanically screwed together after.

Understand that various contractors licensed by Jonsereds made the full wraps....people under Tilton and Scotsco management. Jonsereds never sent any saws over here with full wraps on the saws. It was done /offered in NA. But even so, it was done to a certain style and type.....they weren't all over the map with like Billy Bob's Best Handles etc.....;)

It looks odd being so high and out towards the front of the saw so much ...maybe way to big for the saw
To me it almost looks homemade from a handle off another saw .
I've seen these on the 90's and they don't look like this o maybe they do and I didn't see it .
I find all these different styles and mounting styles on these full wraps very interesting ..I guess back in the day it was more about functionality then looks unlike todays standards .

Nice add Ernie!! The full wrap on the 70E looks like it was meant for an 80/90 series...it does look to big for the 70E saw frame.......notice it had been mounted much further down in the upper mount like it was on a larger saw frame and as Kevin said does not mount correctly on the clutch side like it's meant to.. I'm certainly no expert on WC full wraps like Kevin but do know how they mount!!

The top piece going into the mount on this handle is curved and every other one I have seen doesn't have the curve at all ...it's straight rite down into the clamp mount
Kinda why I thought also it was a homemade of sorts . The black piece of the handle may be original but that piece definitely isn't .

Correct, it's wrong for the 80/90 even....wrong shape. The top piece was broken and screwed back in....it's supposed to be welded. Happy to picture mine again on the 80. It's correct in every way. A stupid helper broke the handle throwing posts on top of it in the back of my truck. Finally bought the correct metric tubing, fashioned it, and had it aluminum welded.

Everyone(except me), usually cut the bottom of the wrap because they couldn't find the AV mount that goes back to the saw body. And they'd stick a bulb bobble in it where they cut it. I had people argue with me who bought saws like that, it came that way new! People that should have known better......

That Scotsco pic is odd....almost looks like they cut the bottom rather than bother with the AV mount. I can't explain that if that's what I'm seeing. The mount did become rare in the '80s......I remember when I tried to find some back then.

I guess the only place I've seen the complete full-wrap with the bottom AV mount has been the PNW. Which makes the Scotsco ad lit doubly odd. The screw hole on the bottom case is in all the 80/90s I've ever seen.....sometimes hard to see with the paint if the full wrap was never installed. There's a slight slant in the case too where the AV mount snugs in.

I could use my full-wrap as a template to make more.....but never found anyone with a machine shop tubing bender, interested. Probably take 1 1/2-2hrs. Depending on the shop that could be $200. No thanks.....

Now the 110/111/111S never had that bottom AV... the full-wrap was always cut off on that saw. Almost looks like that 70e was fitted with an oversized full-wrap ring.....much like the 110/111/111S had. But like I said, the ones I've seen have all been uniform like mine in shape. I do have a iron(steel) one that is shaped like mine, but smaller in tubing diameter. I hated using it on my hands. But.....it gave me the incentive to fix my other one. My poor working 90 has the standard half-wrap. I hate that wrap. If I'm wearing gloves and carrying the saw running, my knuckles hit the decomp which is very annoying during a long workday.

I definitely could use another correct full-wrap.....but they're pretty rare now. A bit of trivia....the 910 had a different full-wrap than the 80/90, BUT used that same unobtainium bottom AV mount. Like in the X-Files, "They're out there"....

My 90 has what I assume is the correct full wrap set up. It looks the same as Ernie's add to me. I have a NOS 910EV full wrap with correct mounting to .....much different set up but as kevin said the bottom PTO side mount is the same. Been waiting patiently for a 910EV to mount it on......seems a waste to mount it on my regular 910E.

Nope....if you look at the ring itself on the one Ernie linked to it's pretty much a square. The one you pictured and the one I have has a slight slant on the recoil side. Not a big deal, but they are different. Also, in your pic, someone has welded(poorly), that straight piece that goes back to the saw from the top of the full-wrap. It was broken in the past, just like mine, and a common occurrence. That's a weak glob joint, whoever did that.

Your 90 is begging for a bottom louver muffler....thought you had one?

They are.... I have this one that's on a 910 & didn't pay much attention for the longest time (non runner that i haven't got to yet). Was moving my saws around & noticed recently.
