the saw isn't available here yet.

i'll keep watching for them.

i'm gonna ask at the tree show this weekend.

So here were people want them (even if they are forced to want it) they cost extra. And there, where people don't want them, they pay extra to get get another muffler. Either way Husky gets more of our money...
Hmmm, I don't think anyone actually want it.

My old Husky dealer told me he had sold a grand total of one E-tech saw, and after a while he changed out the muffler for an ordinary one, on warrency.

We can organize a swap. I've got one 346XP & one 359 e-tech I could send. Maybe we could get Al Gore to deliver them.

I just got my 346XP New Edition from Bailey's. It is a non E-Tech with the muffler outlet on the top.

You lucky Husky dog! I had to buy my mufler seperate (gas cap too!) When I talked with Gregg around 2 months ago I was told that they were getting in a lot more of the 45 cc versions. Did you ask if they had any more of the 50 cc non e-tech versions?

No, you're right. I was thinking about saw requirements for working on publicly owned land, but after posting I realised they don't include cat-mufflers, only alkylate gas and veggie bar oil.

Sawtroll your Husky 339xp (may 2007), How do you like it. I can't seem to find one in the states.

It is a very cool saw for light work - the ergonomics/handling are simply superb!

My wife fell in love with it immediately.

They are offered in the US by now, and I believe all the US ones are the improved "New Edition" ones.

Adjustments to the 346XP NE

Hey SawTroll you have been following my posts on another forum. Have you done any adjustments to your saw. I have read some on EHP's posts on another forum talking about modded saws. He said something about the 346 getting hot, he was talking about the etech version which nether of us have. Just wondering if you have noticed yours getting hot or adjusted it in anyway. I am running an 18" bar with .325 chain. Seems to be a real cutter. Really powerful saw. You having good luck with yours? :chainsaw:

No "hot" issues.

I have turned the "H" in as far in as the limiter lets me, and it turns 13400rpm with impressive torque. I will let it stay there until it is run in.

Not much cutting going on these days, because of Witchys condition.....

Troll and Hornet - I have a Question

I'll be getting my NE 346 XP through my dealer probably some time next week. If they come in as promised. I know you've both had one for a while and would appreciate your input.

My question is I want to get an 18" bar and chain combo - (as this saw will be taking over duties of my 15 year-old Husky 55 which I had an 18" bar on) but I'd like to know which chain you think would allow me the most performance? I cut primarily oak and maple.

I plan on primarily using it for smaller bucking/felling chores under 16" dia., and limbing.

Thanks - - - Al
